FF to photo #23 posted at Philly.com...enlarge and look at windshield where it appears the 'relatively' intact unit appears to illustrate impact from something in the glass. I have never had luck posting photos.

That impact could have happened during the derailment, like hitting one of the catenary line poles, or the rocks of the rail bed.
