Walker, who currently has the practical backing of Iowa Governor Terry Branstad, can afford to take a chance and bypass the Straw Poll. Governor Branstad, not incidentally, has said that the Iowa Straw Poll has outlived its usefulness. Not a bad strategy by Walker, considering who has his back.
I’m glad you said that...actually Branstad said it’s a scam almost...and it is...to raise funds for the Iowa GOP. To vote in the poll, you have to pay like 50 dollars per person. Thus, it costs the campaigns a zillion dollars to get voters there.
