Lived in Hillsdale, Michigan when I was younger. They had a no-burn ordinance, except for one particular Saturday each October which they designated as “Leaf Burning Day”. Nearly everybody in this town of 7000 rushed out to burn their stockpile of autumn leaves, resulting in a veritable black-and orange mushroom cloud that was visible from the Ohio Turnpike 25 miles away. It truly looked like the whole town was on fire.
LOL! I’d rather use the leaves for compost. In our town, they have leaf collection, and its taken to the recycling center where they make compost and then let the public come in and take it for free.
