Third, the federal government is picking up 100% of the tab for Medicaid expansion

Thank God for that. I was afraid we taxpayers would have to pay for it....

“If you’re below the Obamacare threshold, you go into Medicaid.

Beats being uninsured.”

Easy for you to say when your not paying the bill.

From an economic point of view there is no such thing as a sustainable system where the buyer has no incentive to control what they buy by way of price.

Health insurance by introducing a 3rd party payer into the system removing such an incentive will only drive the cost of theses services up until such point that the 3rd party and thus indirectly you become bankrupted or mismanaged by the 3rd party trying to control costs without control or knowledge of need.

So no it does not beat being uninsured. Being uninsured is the only way you can maintain a healthy and competitive healthcare market. The fewer people who are uninsured the few market forces there are to keep prices down and services competitive.

Don’t condemn people who lost theirs.

I didn't

where’s the free market?

The government has done its level best to kill it so they can point and say; "see, it doesn't work".

For you, it may be medical welfare.

What do you mean "for me". That's what it is. If somebody else is paying for your healthcare, through a government program...it's socialized medicine...medical welfare. It sure as hell IS NOT insurance.
