How the Bandidos became one of the world’s most feared biker gangs
Washington Post ^ | 19 may 2015 | Micheal E. Miller

The Bandidos motorcycle gang has a saying: “Cut one, we all bleed.”

It’s not clear who started the cutting, but there was plenty of bloodshed on Sunday when the Bandidos brutally clashed with members of several other bike gangs at a restaurant in Waco, Tex. A wild shootout in broad daylight left nine bikers dead, 18 wounded and at least 165 under arrest.

The confrontation began about noon at a Twin Peaks restaurant in a shopping center and quickly escalated from fisticuffs to all-out war, said Sgt. W. Patrick Swanton, a police spokesman. At one point, as many as 30 gang members were shooting at one another in the restaurant’s parking lot. Police found more than 100 weapons and scores of shell casings.

And if you do get on their hit list....

Go after them. They where uniforms, ride motorcycles, and frequent the same spots.

--having been around thousands of them at the Sturgis Rally, I agree completely-

-have been in close proximity of Hells Angels, Bandidos, Vagos, and Outlaws with no trouble whatsoever--by minding my own business--

If you haven’t read hunter thompsons book I recommend you do. Very interesting. Especially the part where he attempted to intervene when a hells angels member was slapping his woman around, they almost beat him (stomped him really) to death.

The few times I’ve encountered Bandidos, I’ve just quietly ducked away, and gone in the opposite direction. They’ve always been bad news.

If you want to know about bike gangs, read that magazine, Easy Rider.

Eight Cossacks dead, one Bandido. It’s unknown if they were killed by bikers or police. Last report I read said 4 were shot by police but there were bodies inside the restaurant indicating at least a few were killed by bikers.

Do you own a motorcycle? Or do you mean if you're on foot and you see them hanging around somewhere?

—interesting—looks to me we’d solve a whole bunch of “gang” problems if we’d seriously stop illegal immigration—

Bikers don’t usually mess with Civilians unless you give them a reason. Give them a wide berth, mind your manners around them and you should be ok. And if youre in a bar and they show up, make a quick exit. They do tend to get frisky after a few beers and might take exception to the color of your shirt or something.

I hear ya.

No. I’m just a Texan, who has traveled up and down Texas roads all across the state for over thirty years. Encountered them from time to time, usually around out-of-the-way, isolated locales, when I was out shooting photos and such.

I would trust the Hells Angel more than the Bloods or Crips. Street Gangs will kill ya just to increase their street cred. Biker Gangs have a little more honor than that.

Gangs come and go depending on the leadership. The problem is not the gang itself but the mental health of individual members. If one of the members decides you are an invading space alien, he will attack and the gang will join in. That’s why you stay away from them. There is no rhyme or reason sometimes. You just look like a cop.

This event happened at a scheduled meeting of the -Texas Confederation of
Clubs and independents. Here is their statement on the happens.

Texas Family and Friends:

We are saddened by the tragic event that took place at the recent Texas Confederation
of Clubs & Independents meeting location in Waco, TX.

We as a community have worked very hard over the years to build a place of trust
and collaboration no matter what you ride or whether you choose to wear a patch
or are an independent in the our great State of Texas. We as a community hope the
public will not judge all of us by the actions of those responsible for the
senseless violence that unfolded in Waco.

We are steadfast as a community in representing Bikers in a positive fashion. We
protect our rights and freedoms at the State Capitol, we promote safety and
awareness on our area streets and highways, we embrace charitable work year
round improving the quality of life for those from our community in need as
well as for other organizations.

We are confident that the public who already knows us because we are men,
women, fathers, mothers, grand-parents, sons and daughters, professionals and
veterans all committed to being productive contributors to society.

We will not let this tragic event tarnish all the good Texas Bikers have
done and will continue to do for the community and all of those riders who
enjoy experiencing the open road on two wheels.

--they usually don't bother "civilians", only each other. While some of the activities in which they engage are illegal, such are only engaged in by willing participants.

And if you're in a bar and they show up, make a quick exit. They do tend to get frisky after a few beers and might take exception to the color of your shirt or something.

Substitute urban gangs for bikers and it sounds the same. The activities they engage in (mostly drug dealing, primarily meth, and gun dealing, including the outfitting of urban gangs) lead to much tragedy to "civilians". I have seen personally the damage they can contribute to when I lived in East County in San Diego, many lives ruined because of meth. Frisky? If causing mayhem and pain to innocent people because of the color of ones shirt or how you looked at their ol' lady is "frisky", then they are no better than a thug doing the same because they don't like the color of your skin. These guys are romanticized by shows such as SOA because they have a "creed" and purport a love for the good old USA. They are scum and lawbreakers that use their numbers to intimidate people.

Remember the good old days in LA? Angels, Satan Slaves, Galloping Gooses. I never had any problem with any of them.

Yep....Movies and TV show tend to make these guys out as some sort of Robin Hoods or rebels. They are really goons and thugs. They will do anything for a buck. But I still would feel safer around bikers than street gangs.

I grew up in the 1960s in Manhattan, in the neighborhood where the Hells Angels (still) have their club (E 3rd St). However, the difference from then to now is like night and day. You hardly ever see them outside anymore. The neighborhood has since been "neutered" by thousands of starbucs types.
