And the people of Oregon really think if this scheme is ever implemented the gas tax will be forever repealed?
Apparently some Americans are just begging to be controlled.
It's no different than a Pimp (feds) and a Hooker (people).
The Hooker says “I love you baby and I'll do ANYTHING for you...”.
The Pimp then just back hands her and says “shut up!...” then punches her and knocks her down. The Hooker then gets back up and says to her Pimp “Yes hit me again baby I love it.”......
And that seems to be the path we are heading down. Hopefully, the American people will wake up.
If a state (Washington) can set bridge and road tolls by a commission, they can surely set fee per mile by commission, too. I just wouldn't count on the toll staying at .015. But if the 'commission' says we have to raise the rate, hey, they're the "experts."
Also in Washington State, the state constitution limits gas tax spending to highways and ferries. No such limitation on tolls.
