The poisonous effects of these drugs do shorten life, just like cigarettes. My sense of morality does not have an ends justifies the means remedy to combat the drug epidemic. Adding to the poisonous effects would be like someone putting pins in children’s Halloween candy because they want to end Halloween. That is why I prefer getting the supply network because, as with any distribution network, interruptions cause huge effects.

Did not say I would endorse such a “solution,” simply that it would be effective.

People routinely get into the frame of mind whereby they proclaim that some problem cannot be solved. Usually, they are wrong. What they really mean is that it cannot be solved using methods they’re willing to use, which may very well be true.

Poisoning the illegal drug supply randomly would be highly effective. Most Americans, including myself, aren’t willing to use this method, however.

Same with “the Muslim problem.” The USA has the physical resources by which it could kill every Muslim on the planet. Nobody would be able to stop us. No Muslims, no Muslim problem.

Thankfully, to me at least, we aren’t willing to use such methods.

But let’s at least acknowledge that while some solutions are morally unacceptable to us, the problems themselves are not physically incapable of solution.

Or possibly I just look at things from odd angles. :)
