Sorry, you have not changed my mind about deck being stacked....
Your particular area and firm might be an exception or a rule...I don’t know, altho there were some studies and articles linked in this post and various others that refute some of your examples...
I would agree with you that our universities are filled with foreign students in the Engineering and IT departments....I have a huge problem with that...As I noted in the post you referenced,#101, that the University of Illinois is actually going to China to recruit engineering students....Those slots could and should be filled first by US taxpaying students....from Illinois.
I do believe that their needs to be more of an effort to recruit students in to math and sciences, tho it would be helpful if there were well paying jobs awaiting them upon graduation.
As far as 5 applicants for the $98,000 job with 4 being foreigners, I believe companies should HIRE US CITIZENS FIRST...Sorry if people disagree, but I believe US Citizens have paid their dues and should get first crack—as is done in most other countries,
Eh, but I do want to thank you for your input...good to debate, and I am glad that your area of country and industry is doing well.
Wish some unemployed US citizens could find work as easy as your applicants.
Anyway, thanks again.
