Is anyone still defending him? I agree, I pray for him daily and for the Church. I also pray the St Michael prayer daily. We are in perilous times and this Pope is either actively against the Truth, or oblivious.

Hey dearest, beautiful xs! You and mlizzy are much better than me. I don't pray for him at all, but I pray for our Church, Pope Benedict XVI, (never mind the *Emeritus*) and I pray St. Michael's prayer, too, (several times daily, sometimes)!

I have to admit I haven't liked Francis from the start, and he continues to solidify my reasons.

It's hard to believe the Holy Spirit was at work in his election, when it has always seemed to me that his election was more political or politically geographical than anything else.

I don't know his mind, but we know he's a Jesuit...

He doesn't speak English, but this "lost in translation" excuse doesn't wash. He's definitely Left-wing, IMHO.

God bless and keep you both and everyone precious to you.

I too was skeptical from the start and he has done nothing but substantiate my fears— there is a new outrage almost daily. I never put a minute’s worth of credence in the mis-translation theory. This has to be intentional. Didn’t he himself say something after his election that the Cardinals might be sorry they elected him?

If Catholics don't believe that the Holy Spirit had a hand in his election, where does that leave your church?

How, then, can you be sure of ANYTHING that has happened in its 2,000 year or so history?

And how is that determination made? On what basis does the laity question the decisions of the hierarchy?
