NEW YORK— The national president of the Boy Scouts of America, Robert Gates, said Thursday that the organization’s longstanding ban on participation by openly gay adults is no longer sustainable, and called for change in order to avert potentially destructive legal battles.
In a speech in Atlanta to the Scouts’ national annual meeting, Gates referred to recent moves by Scout councils in New York City and elsewhere to defy the ban.
“The status quo in our movement’s membership standards cannot be sustained,” he said.
Gates said no change in the policy would be made at the national meeting. But he raised the possibility of revising the policy at some point soon so that local Scout organizations could decide on their own whether to allow gays as leaders.

One of my sons is a Scout leader, and spends a lot of time on it. His two sons have both made Eagle Scout over the past two years. I hesitated to ask him what he thought about allowing openly gay boys into the scouts, although I assumed he would be against it, but I can’t believe anyone could go along with welcoming pederasts into the organization.
The Girl Scouts went crazy quite some time ago. Now it looks as if the Boy Scouts will follow them down the drain, unless they oppose this horrible idea. Time to shovel out this guy who is making so much trouble.

Anyone interested in raising their boys to be upstanding citizens would do well to disassociate yourself from this organization and set up your own local group where you can exercise all the control a responsible parent should be exercising.

Homo-fascists want their fresh meat, and will twist the tail of their government brethern to make it that happen.
The only thing that has kept the BSA going the last 20 years has been the adoption of BSA by the Mormons as their primary young men’s program.
