They did try to cover it up to the extent they waited one to four years to report it.

And they didn't exactly "report" it. They told a trooper. This a situation where you go down to the station and/or prosecutor's office, not tell some individual officer.

It seems there are two different versions. In one they talked to a state trooper, in another Oprah staff called it in.

And the trooper SHOULD have made an official report on it. But he didn't because he is a pedo too and now in prison for it.

I defended the Duggars for YEARS to people who thought their way of life was extreme. I thought there was nothing wrong with protecting your kids from the crap in the world.b(Still don't) Old-fashioned courting seemed so appealing in contrast to the hookup culture. The kids' marriages seemed destined to last.

I hope they will last. But now that the fame and glory the spouses married into is over, we'll see if they really believe in their vows.
