I feel great sorrow for the girls. They seem like such graceful, beautiful young women, and to think they’ve been carrying this with them for so many years ... Jana always seem like a damaged little bird. Jinger always seemed distant. It’s falling on all of them, and for that, Jim Bob and Michelle are to blame. Josh, too, obviously. Very sad.

My heart goes out to the Duggar girls, too. I watched the very first episode out of curiosity — a couple raising 14 children and living in a 2000 square foot house. I was appalled that the older girls had so much responsibility thrust upon them — cooking, cleaning, laundry (even making soap), child care and later, homeschooling. Michelle stated that when the latest baby was “weaned”, he/she was assigned a “buddy” that looked after them. Chores are one thing, but these poor girls were raising their siblings and had no childhood themselves. I always wondered what Michelle did all day, since the older girls seemed to do everything around the house. Now, these revelations about Josh. I hope his wife is keeping her children safe. Prayers all around for this family.
