Obama wins trade victory in the Senate
The Washington Post ^ | 5/22/2015 | Paul Kane

President Obama won a big victory for his trade agenda Friday with the Senate’s approval of fast-track legislation that could make it easier for him to complete a wide-ranging trade deal that would include 11 Pacific Rim nations.

A coalition of nearly 50 Senate Republicans and more than 10 Democrats voted for Trade Promotion Authority late Friday, sending the legislation to the House for a difficult fight as Obama faces more entrenched opposition from Democrats.

The Senate coalition fought off several attempts by opponents to undermine the legislation, defeating amendments that were politically popular but potentially poisonous to Obama’s bid to secure the trade deal.

“This is an important bill, likely the most important bill we will pass this year. It’s important to President Obama,” Sen. Orrin G. Hatch (R-Utah), chairman of the Senate Finance Committee and primary author of the bill, said at the close of debate.

Demorat political operatives have publicly said open immigration give them 65 to75% of the new immigrant vote.

Yep, but they get that much of the existing minority and immigrant groups, even excluding AAs. I think they get 80% of the new immigrants.

It's insane that any Republican thinks they can out-Democrat the Democrats and increase their vote among recent immigrant groups.

This is pretty easy to figure out. Who is for the secrets in the bill? The Senate members bought and paid for by the US Chamber of Commerce. Who is against it? The staunch anti-Illegal Immigrant Senators and the Senators from heavily union states.

So, what is in the bill? Total and complete victory for Obama on Illegal Immigration, and massive increases in H1-B and cheap labor for the Chamber of Commerce lackeys.

America curses the Give Obama Power party
which LIED to the American people, and
which serves itself and al Qaeda and the Impostor.

I trust Sen. Warren today more than the GOP which
created every evil that now plagues America
including the Moslem Impostor.

I actually think they are so scared of Cruz and losing their power they will do all they can to maintain the one party status so he can’t get elected.

Then he must be scared of himself because it looks like he voted for it.

I completely agree except for who you deem the lackeys. It’s not the chamber of commerce who are lackeys, it’s the politicians who serve them, including Ted Cruz apparently.

Cruz just lost my vote. He will probably come up with some asinine explanation like, “it was going to pass anyway, so it didn’t make any difference if I voted for it.”

This is why we all turned out and voted overwhelmingly for Republicans in the last election ; to ensure that poor little mr. obama had lots of sufficient support when his mean old Democrat party opposed him in his initiatives .

I can hardly believe I am reading how a majority of Republicans were helping obama overcome Democrat resistance .

There should be an overwhelming majority of Republicans , joined by a substantial number of democrats at this point , demanding that obama face impeachment , for approx 20 different issues , and complete malfeasance in handling the war on ISIS/al Qaeda .

This is why I say NEITHER Party merits our loyalty or support anymore . The USA needs an entirely new system and approach .

American workers lose again. Every trade deal has decimated citizen employment.
