It is not through the measly contributions from these leftist organization. Well, that's true, for sure. Hunting and fishing license fees make up a big part of state conservation funds.
But, be honest. Suppose you were at Cabelas, standing in line to get your deer-hunting license. And the guy in front of you says to the clerk, "I'm buying this license to save the deer." Wouldn't that be a bit off-putting?

I don't understand why that would be off putting. Most hunters already know the role their hunting plays in conservation. It's not something that is mentioned first and foremost in any conversation. I believe this guy talked about it because he knew the kind of irrational reactions to his hunt he would get. The only thing off putting about my license buying experience was when I did it online last week, I paid almost $200.00 for something that used to cost less than $50.00.
