Am I supposed to have a big problem with this? After my grandmother died unexpectedly, a short time later, my grandfather (early 70s then) was considering a relationship with someone he had once known. I think she was a cousin.
He was originally from Minnesota, from the American branch of a Canadian family. She was in Winnipeg, and apparently they had known each other when young.
I remember my mother expressing some concern over her randy father’s possible late life dalliance, which came to nothing in the end.
After my MIL was widowed at a fairly young age, she had a male friend. They dated and enjoyed a few years, before he too died. All of her children, approved of Mom having a good life.
I guess Cochran can now move from the guest room up to the master.
He’s lived in the DC residence of Kay Webber for a number of years.
A lot of recent convenient deaths have certainly made the senator’s life simpler.
Marrying him off is less controversial than hiring a live in nurse. I’ve read that Thad is senile. He can barely dress himself. He reads what his staff puts in front of him.
So a 77 year old man married a 77 year old woman... Now the mans wife died last december, but she had been suffering from dementia and in a nursing home for the last 13 years....
So, this is a scandal?
If you show me evidence of abuse or neglect by the man to his first wife before her death because he was spending time with this woman, you got a scandal, but otherwise this is just busy bodying as far as I’m concerned.
