Then you are dooming our economy and killing off jobs.The US had protective tariffs during much of the 19th and early 20th century up until Woodrow Wilson. According to you, that should have "doomed" our economy and caused mass unemployment. Instead, the US had the fastest growing economy in the world during that period.
