Men tend to take on riskier and more labor intensive careers than women generally do. Not to mention the fact that the careers that many women choose contributes to this pay difference: especially when they whine about the lack of women in STEM occupations after choosing stupid majors like Womyns’ Studies instead of jobs in said STEM fields. Then, of course, there is the fact that this statistic doesn’t take into account for differences in occupations, positions, education, job tenure, or hours worked per week. It’s all smoke and mirrors used in order to demonize men and capitalism.
Yes, all these are also real factors in the wage differences. Thanks for including.
I’m the lowest paid decision-maker in my company. Our support staff, 100% women, make roughly 50% of my annual salary after adjusting for hours worked. They work just as hard as I do on a per-hour basis and stay busy each and every day. The difference is that if I make a mistake, their jobs, to some degree, disappear.
If the decision-making team and I make enough bad decisions, the whole company goes bankrupt and all the employees disappear. I would conjur that this young woman, in 20 years continuing on this path, won’t contribute a damn thing to society and will be a drain on society, just like my sister, who chose this lifestyle. My sister’s failure in life by choosing homosexuality is not opinion. It is fact.
