Global Climate On Verge Of Multi-Decadal Change
Reporting ClimateScience ^ | 5/28/2015

Posted on 05/29/2015 4:21:23 AM PDT by Bulwinkle

A new study, by scientists from the University of Southampton and National Oceanography Centre (NOC), implies that the global climate is on the verge of broad-scale change that could last for a number of decades.

The change to the new set of climatic conditions is associated with a cooling of the Atlantic, and is likely to bring drier summers in Britain and Ireland, accelerated sea-level rise along the northeast coast of the United States, and drought in the developing countries of the Sahel region. Since this new climatic phase could be half a degree cooler, it may well offer a brief reprise from the rise of global temperatures, as well as resulting in fewer hurricanes hitting the United States....

How would the ocean level rise just along the NE?

But... 97% of scientists!

And Global Warming caused both the drought and flood in Texas!

If sea level is "rising" along just a small section of coast, then that means the sea level isn't rising, it means the land is subsiding.

Change in atmospheric pressure changes sea level.

I guess the older, failed predictions of climate change Armageddon have expired. It’s time for a new round of fear inducing predictions.

Someone needs to remind these folks that the true test of a scientific theory is the ability of that theory to predict observable physical phenomena. The global warming models have a dismal track record in that regard.

The NE is sinking, do to global warming... 😊

But aren’t changes in atmospheric pressure both normal and temporary??

Which means it has nothing to do with global warming?

Fewer than "none"?

Quick, someone tell those 'scientists' that we're already in the middle of an unusual multi-year lull in hurricanes making landfall in the US.

They keep saying this one thing which bothers me. “accelerated sea-level rise along the northeast coast of the United States,” due to Global Climate Change. I’ve read this in several other reports on “Anthrogenic Global Warming”Sea level is the same all over the planet. How is it that ONLY the northeast coast of the US is affected? This new-age religion has its adherents, its fanatics, but it’s full of holes, conflicts, very confusing. But I’m not an adherent.

Now they are going to have to spend a lot of money changing all the elevation signs on the eastern mountain roads.

Consider how much Progressive political power is consolidated in the US NE. Want to rile them up? Tell them they’ll be disproportionately affected.

Ok, actually the sea level is indeed different around the planet. One challenge, apparently, to creating a “sea-level” canal in Nicaragua is that there will be a decent current as the water flows between Atlantic/Carribean and Pacific.
