Blatter’s power base in Africa, Asia, and (with the notable exception of the U.S) the CONCACAF (North America, Central America, and the Caribbean) regions held firm. He continues to ride on making sure those places get flooded with kickbacks and posturing that the “old world” (specifically, Europe) is just resentful of soccer being a true “world game”.
Whether anyone believes that garbage or whether they’re just in it for the swag is irrelevant. The ones profiting from the regime aren’t going to put an end to it.
Hopefully, there will eventually be enough indictments/arrests from a variety of governments to topple the whole damn thing. This is a house that needs to be cleansed from top to bottom anyway - just removing Blatter would only have concealed the rot, not cut it out.
Problem though is that there is a perception that the arrests of those FIFA officals is being done because the USA LOST the bid to HOST either 2018 or 2022.
Some goof on the radio this morning asked whether there would be any Blatter Leaks coming from the DOJ.
