Why should the U.S. DOJ waste time and our money on this BS? FIFA isn’t a U.S. organization and has its offices in Switzerland. Makes about as much sense as going after OPEC for price fixing. Most Americans don’t give a rat’s posterior about FIFA or soccar for that matter.

You ask a very good question. The reality is that, most Americans, and I included, do not care about either FIFA or of soccer, unless one is from another country. This is just a distraction to the trouble the Dems are in.

It's an organized crime syndicate operating in part in the U.S. and using U.S banks in a wire fraud an money laundering scheme. For that alone, regardless of the subject of their business, the DoJ should be involved. And frankly, the asset seizures and fines will more than pay for the costs.

The initial indictments concerned mostly CONCACAF officials, whose offices are in Miami (previously New York), not Switzerland. The Swiss are conducting their own investigation of the FIFA corporate body.

This is only the tip of the iceberg. If followed up, the same players are almost certainly involved with the IOC as well.

Vladimir Putin has accused the United States of meddling outside its jurisdiction by arresting officials from Fifa.

“This is yet another blatant attempt [by the United States] to extend its jurisdiction to other states,” the Russian president said on Thursday.

Putin added that the arrests were a “clear attempt” to prevent the re-election of Sepp Blatter as Fifa president and that the Swiss had Russia’s backing.

“It looks very strange, the arrests are carried out on the request of the USA side,” he said. “They are accused of corruption – who is? International officials. I suppose that someone broke some rules, I don’t know. But definitely, it’s got nothing to do with the USA. Those officials are not US citizens. If something happened it was not in the US and it’s nothing to do with them.

True, but the MSM shove it down our throats, and government schools force our kids to play it.

Money laundering using US banks is still illegal. Also what I found funny is that the IRS wants taxes on the bribes that the US citizens received.
