It’s bigger in the U.S. than you might think. This is where the biggest growth - especially in terms of $$$ - of the sport is. It’s why NBC and Fox have spent buckets of money for broadcast rights and why the largest club teams (Bayern, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Manchester United, etc.) have entire departments dedicated to U.S. marketing and merchandising.
