I was just getting into that video when it got overridden by loud back-to-back advertising that drowned it out. There was no button to turn it off or any visual indication of it. I restarted it and got the same result. Do advertisers really get more sales with this crap? Annoy hell out of your potential customers to generate sales? Are we collectively really that sheepish?

I rarely watch the videos or ‘click’ on very much these days. I run ‘Ad Block’ and No Script to keep from seeing a lot of the junk that’s on any website I visit. I didn’t even try to see the video in this article, just commented on the lead-in to it which I felt was not accurately descriptive.

Advertisements have gotten so overwhelmingly pervasive that I tune them out and/or ignore them in whatever form they appear as much as I possibly can. The older I get, the lower my tolerance gets and the more they annoy me .... I guess it’s because they are such a waste of my time. I can’t remember the last time I bought something based on an advertisement.

I've wondered the same thing many times. The ads seem to be counterproductive. Another ploy they use is to repeat their phone number or web address far too many times during the ad. I understand the importance of being able to contact them, but to hear "That's 1-800 blah, blah, blah" or "That's www dot blah, blah, blah" six or seven times in a row is really annoying. I won't patronize a business that uses that tactic.

Well, that's my rant for a Saturday morning. Sorry for getting away from the thread topic.
