It is well established that between ears of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Tex.) there is a Rube Goldberg machine gone haywire, judging by his impulse to summon a fabrication or absurdity for almost any occasion.
To wit: He compares climate activists to flat-Earthers, blames President Obama for the 2008 economic crash, claims ISIS is "literally nailing Christians to trees" (not true), asserts that cities with the toughest gun control laws have the most crime, estimates there are "111,000 agents" at the IRS (missed by a factor of 10), and believes that George Soros is plotting to shut down golf courses throughout the U.S.
Now the captain of Team Fringe is talking again, and if you listen carefully, you can hear the sound of popcorn being made by dense people all over the land.
"Democrats and Republicans in the congressional delegation," he told the victims of Texas floods Wednesday, "will stand as one in support of the federal government meeting its statutory obligations to provide the relief to help Texans who are hurting."
Sound familiar? Probably not.
Here's what he said after voting "no" on Sandy relief:
"This bill is symptomatic of a larger problem in Washington an addiction to spending money we do not have. The Senate should not be in the business of exploiting victims of natural disasters to fund pork projects."
This has been your weekly reminder that anyone might slither onto the campaign trail this year,(snip)

Detroit has open and concealed carry with stand your ground laws.
Sen. Cruz spoke before 500 people in Mass, and did any impression of JFK. If you’re interested, it’s at the 14:50 mark of the video.
I saw these and thought oh no..... FR is going Jeb or zot again...
THANK GOODNESS, Not!
I like Cruz and we need him desperately.
carry on! :)
Author refuses to be named.... so he can lie with impunity..
I don’t see a contradiction. If pork spending projects were being added to disaster relief spending then that is entirely different from disaster relief spending itself.
As for the nailing Christians to trees comment, that would be that they were nailing some to crosses. Whether they did or didn’t I don’t know. I did read news stories claiming they did.
Looks to me like they are pretty guilty of fabrications themselves.
Cruz comes along when everyone’s hands are in the Treasury and his views are horrifying for socialists.
“Any guesses as to when the Star Ledger last endorsed the Republican nominee for President? My guess is 1952. “
Yeah probably, and it’s one of the main “fishwraps” in New Jersey, the nation’s toilet! This rag won’t say anything nice about the Pillsbury Doughboy either.
Is there any actual evidence of execution by nailed crucifixion, as opposed to display of a dead body tied to a cross?
~~~~~~~~~~~~
What is your criteria for “actual evidence”? If the only thing you accept is photographs, then no, there is no evidence of anything other than several corpses tied to crosses in Rakka.
However, if reports from eyewitnesses and surviving victims is good enough, then there is plenty, enough for the UN to say that it’s happening.
I have the feeling you want to be pedantic in order to play the “concern troll”.
Angrily denounce the monstrous crime of usurping the power of the Party by the "Gang of Four" anti-Party clique!
> Author refuses to be named.... so he can lie with impunity..
I noticed that too. The libs are absolutely terrified of the man and what he stands for.
Find out who these miscreants are! It can’t be that hard. These miserable cowards run under the skirts of the “Lady Ledger every time THEY might be the object of derision. Who are they? What are their names? They are the journalistic version of the ISIS executioners who refuse to show their faces. Worthless cowards, like Grorgie Porgie, they run away....
“Nailed to a tree” is how Christ’s crucifixion was described so technically Cruz was right if he did say that.
I stand with Ted
um.. here are the top 10 most dangerous cities in America:
1 - Detroit
2 - St. Louis
3 - Oakland
4 - Memphis
5 - Birmingham
6 - Atlanta
7 - Baltimore
8 - Stockton
9 - Cleveland
10 - Buffalo
WE have been very successful at rolling back the worst gun laws. Of the above 10 cities, Oakland, Baltimore, Stockton, and Buffalo have very restrictive gun laws (no shall issue concealed carry). I am sure that local application of the law may be bad in the others, but the state level laws have improved considerably.
“What surprises me is that so many conservatives still dont realize that Sen. Cruz is the only candidate that will fearlessly take on the GOP.
It surprises me too, and it disgusts me.
If we lose this time around, it’s not just an election, we will have lost the country. There is good argument that we have already lost our country, but there is at least a chance that we could turn it around with a fighter like Cruz.
~~Cruz, OR LOSE~~ Ted Cruz is the only true Conservative in this race.
It’d be too easy. Libs are so full of themselves. Just call the Star Telegram faux gushing about how much you loved the column and wanted to know who wrote such a great column slamming conservatives and you’ll probably get the name in 2 secs flat. Egos are a great thing for an undercover operative to exploit. Its like taking candy from a baby. Oh, make sure you speak with a lisp so as to blend in with their kind. Got to maintain the cover ya know...
And, as usual, the left only prints part of the issue - that Cruz voted against Sandy relief - while they never bother to explain WHY he voted against it.
I guess the Star Ledger doesn’t care about the truth .. only about dissing Cruz.
In 2014 IRS 89000+ official employees and Lord knows how many contract employees. Once Obama care tax was implemented, b reiterate reported IRS would hire up to 16500 new employees to monitor.
“2010, House Ways and Means Committee Republicans issued a report saying the IRS may need as many as 16,500 additional auditors, agents and other employees to investigate and collect billions in new taxes from Americans.
110000 wasn’t a bad quesstimate
Here is why the gun control laws vs death rate is coming up- new propaganda from JAMA.
