It amazes me that people think people like Palin, Carson, Trump, Huckabee and other TV talking heads are politicians. Much less credible presidential candidates.

Bristol hasn’t done anything”supposedly of late if you’re trying to look into wrongdoing so why castigated her for no reason? That sounds like what a leftist would say

Exactly. Palin had two different opportunities to run for Senate from two different states. She turned them down. She is not interested in being a politician.

She is better suited to being a TV talking head.

PDS is alive and doing well here at FR...Some are simply detached from reality...

Sarah is a great patriot...

She is far more effective endorsing and backing any conservative candidate that needs help.

Folks...she isn't running...except for her health.

Mark Hellenthal, a Republican strategist and pollster in Alaska.

Hmmm.

She’s got a life - a full and rich life. She’s doing fine and maybe sometimes she’ll decide to hold office again. I never hear about her husband, Todd, anymore. I hope their relationship is strong. All that darkness from the left was hard to handle in the family.

She seems sorta busy to me. Seems like she's living a fulfilling, wonderful and worthy life. Wife, Mom, Grandma. Piper's graduation, Trigg's graduation from Kindergarten. Hmmm. Maybe the dullards who wrote this stupid column should have first checked her FB page, ya think?

Onyx, you and Bob couldn't be more correct!

Sarah has been busy living her life.

May We always be Happy and our Enemies Know it!

As I recall, when Ronald Reagan announced his candidacy, it was just weeks before the Republican Convention. By not announcing early, he saved big on his election war chest and nobody had time to get tired of hearing his campaigning.
Many of the candidates currently named are already wearing out they exposure to the public.
I’d bet that Mrs. Palin is doing the Ronald Reagan tactic.

She’s a media personality now, and those were good choices for her. She’ll fade away when the next generation grows up, they won’t understand the context of her popularity with conservatives.

Just who are these “conservative” members of Free Republic that show up and downplay SP ALL THE TIME with their faintest of praise?

The PDSers make no sense to me. Doesn’t figure.

I’d bet that Mrs. Palin is doing the Ronald Reagan tactic.

She possibly is still desiring her husband give his unqualified approval to run this time; approval that may or may not come. She seems to value her position as his wife and acknowledges his political savvy also.

There are worse women in the world.

She is not going to run in this next election cycle, absolutely no way.

Lest you forget she told people when McFossil ran last time that he is a conservative, so I don’t see this happening.

It will be a blessing indeed if Sarah steps forth and speaks for the conservative voices principles.
She is unafraid of speaking truth.

There was an immense attack on her when she first stepped on the stage as a vice president candidate, still is, on going. She is strong on connecting with what is good for America as well as seeing what is BAD in general. God bless Sarah Palin....

Governor and veep candidate Palin is a politician, and has helped create, and has been the leader of the conservative movement, for 7 years.

More than any other person, we owe her for the historical gains of 2010, and 2014, and even our one Senate seat pick, and Ted Cruz in the 2012 debacle, led by the anti-Palin faction of the GOP.

“Even in Alaska, her approval ratings are low and her state political career is over....”
____________________________________________________________

According to whom? I was disappointed, however not casting blame on her. Her attackers were playing MEAN!!!.
Her family was attacked mercilessly. She had 2 children that were a baby, and a youngster about 5 or 6, the three elder children were also attacked and criticized routinely. GEEESH!!!

I think that Palin is letting Ted Cruz operate without her interfering.

Getting Cruz elected in 2012, was a huge breakthrough for her goals of moving the party right.

She has largely reshaped the GOP with her involvement in well over a 100 elections, but Cruz is very much like her, and I think she wants to see him in the White House.

And now that she’s — at least for now — off the radar screen, the journos are wondering, “Where’s Sarah Palin?”

The media wants her on stage giving rambling, incoherent speeches so they have something to make fun of.

They don't like guys like Rubio, Paul and Cruz out there making sense, connecting with crowds and, most importantly, throwing their "gotcha" questions back in their faces.

Damn right they miss Sarah Palin!

Thanks for the ping. Sarah will never sit down and shut up for creepy liberals... she will never ‘go away’ for long...

I don't see it, no, at least not for national office. The infrastructure isn't there. It doesn't mean that she can't influence who does, though.

I do note a couple of interesting things about the article: under a very thin veneer of "objective" analysis it gets the "Sarah is a quitter" meme out there at least twice. Crude propaganda can still be effective.
