The military WILL follow orders. There might be a few objectors,and just like in the 1940s Wehrmacht they will be punished or executed.People don;t throw off years of conditioning in a moment. The evil leaders know this. That is why Americans have been trained for generations to call 911 and let the “trained professionals handle it”.A free and independent people are hard to control.

They're not "practicing on us." They're running urban combat drills in an abandoned school. So, the military could either a) spend huge amounts of money and time to build a similar structure on post, or b) utilize an existing structure. No question the communication with the local folks of what's about to happen needs work, but ya'll are going apeshit over some blanks, a few flashbangs, and an idiot reporter.
Seems to be a lot of people out there that think, somehow, the military and local LEO will side with the American people. To that I say, Waco & Ruby Ridge - all levels of LEO were involved in highly criminal activities directed against American citizens in both cases. Think LEO & military will side with us? Think again.

In the 1980s as a member of a Marine Corps Reserve unit, I participated in an amphibious assault on a state beach in Illinois and we also assaulted an area in downtown Chicago on the river. Nothing untoward.

Granted I understand the “First they came for the...” mentality, but if looters, rioters, Branch Davidians, and biker gangs want to step up and volunteer to be the first to be taken out, then fine. But they do not represent “us”.
Whether it is imminent or not I do not want the military practicing on us.
I stand by that. I don’t want it. These things always begin as just a small item and before you know it someone jackass decides to take it to the next level and so on. Metal dectectors become full body scans at airports and patrolling gangs of “VIPR” units pulling over automobiles at random. How about if they decide to see how effective “free fire zones” work in an urban or open suburbian environment too. That OK also??

My father used to tell us how, during WWII, he heard some noise and saw the light from a fire near our farm one night and went out to see what was going on. What he found was Army men on “maneuvers” so he approached the group to see what he could find out and his youngest brother was one of the privates there. He sat around the campfire with his brother and the others for some time and then went home to tell my mother what he had learned. I hope this is all just the same sort of training but I don’t blame you for being concerned.
Michael Moore is actually from Davison, a very nice middle-class suburb about 15 miles from Flint. I used to live there. Despite his public persona he is NOT from the ‘hood.

Well, that's fascinating. What, pray tell, do looters, rioters and bikers have in common with Branch Davidians and Ruby Ridge?
So you know, I don't agree or identify with the Branch Davidians. I do, however, (as should any real American) believe that what was done and how it was done was entirely against any sort of American ideals. Same with Bundy Ranch. The Bundy family is not the poster children for the freedom movement, but what the BLM did was worse.
If you did actually understand the "First they came for the..." mentality, you'd be singing a different tune. When they come for you, don't be surprised if there are those that just sit back and watch.

That is very much my concern. For all the talk of “libs hate the MIL”, the tables will turn if they can manipulate them.
And MIL people essentially think they should follow orders of the authority - not simply go by what they think or feel.
Frankly I think conservatives spend far too much effort venerating the MIL. They can be used for anything, and that should be remembered from the fears (overdone) of the anti-Federalists as well as some Federalists from our Founding days.
OTOH, I do not think necessarily that any of these training sessions is a portent of ill-intention by the gov or MIL. It is very possibly exactly just that - training in a more realistic(?) setting. It’s not as if the only settings will be dessert or jungle.
I am not overly paranoid about MIL or even LEO, yet, but I do remain skeptical as to just how much special treatment they should get. (Shutting down the Baltimore beltway for every damn LEO that dies for his official gigantic funeral is absolutely beyond the pale, IMO.)

Millions believe the State has targeted blacks and so their rioting and looting is a natural response. Just as if the State came for you and me, we would bunker down and return fire as necessary.
So, they came for the hoodrats in Baltimore. When are you going to start whining over them as you do for the Branch Davidians or even now the biker gangs in Waco?
