Democrat Congresswoman Says Making Gang Members Buy Gun Insurance Will Stop Shootings

If insurance is so great at stopping bad things from happening, can we get politician insurance?

For a mere $5.95 a month, you too can be insured against the risk of electing morons whose only two functions in life are stealing money and trying to run your life.

So now the anti-2nd amendment trolls have a great new idea. Stop shootings with gun insurance. It’s a plan so stupid it can only come from a career Democrat.

House Democrat Rep. Carolyn Maloney (N.Y.) has introduced a bill that would require gun owners to carry liability insurance.

The Firearm Risk Protection Act, unveiled Friday, would require gun buyers to have liability insurance coverage before being allowed to purchase a weapon, and would impose a fine of $10,000 if an owner is found not to have it.

“We require insurance to own a car, but no such requirement exists for guns,” Maloney said in a statement. “The results are clear: car fatalities have declined by 25 percent in the last decade, but gun fatalities continue to rise.”

So Maloney’s theory is that the gang members, who are responsible for most of the shootings, will have to buy gun insurance before they shoot someone?

Of course their guns are usually illegal anyway because they’re operating in blue states and/or blue cities. So this plan makes about as much sense as complaining that rioters burning down businesses need jobs.

Instead this is yet another bout of trolling and petty harassment aimed at gun owners by a frustrated left irritated because it hasn’t been able to get its own way in its long battle with the Bill of Rights.

When they get arraigned in court for murder just make sure they have an active policy in place.

If they don’t then slap ‘em with an extra 250.00 fine.

That should do it.

Typical democrat, dumb as a post, a rotting fetted post. She lives by magic thinking, believing gang members are impressed by her laws, What a Maroon! Is Guam tipped over yet?

All government employees from the top down should be randomly drug tested.

Kinda like trying to stop drunk driving by making it harder for sober people to own cars.

Actually...you can get insurance on a car you don’t own.

The title is in one name, and the registration is in somone else’s is perfectly legal in most states, but the registrant must get the signature of the title holder.

Just like a car with a lien on the title. The bank actually owns the car until you pay it off. you can register the vehicle and drive it, but it’s technically not yours until you secure the lien release.

Not only “gang members.” Everyone. More class warfare gun control.

Remember, though, that during the default process, many millions more people are going to be laid off (especially from government-supported employment). And many more will take pension haircuts.

The Second Amendment rights of several political subgroups have already been unconstitutionally violated, while the bipartisan political class did nothing but gloat. Every time that happens, more will join the gun control bandwagon out of revenge.

They only had to throw open one door. It led straight from the nuthouse to the DNC. They didn’t even have to go out of doors (so to speak).

Besides not having a chance in hell of stopping any violence, this is a tax on a Constitutional right no different than a poll tax.
