ESPN has the monopoly on a lot of sports so a necessary evil. But I don’t watch their talking heads, just the games.
So now mental illness and/or cross dressing is being rewarded.
Is there anyone out there who might think that Jenner, being the attention seeking news hog we all know he is, may have orchestrated this whole thing for the $$$$ and admiration he misses? I’d like to see where this guy is one or two years from now when the newness of this fad has worn off.
When are we going to boycott ESPN? When will the men folks abandon the altar of Sports and cut ESPN, or any other network slave to sexual immorality, off at the knees? Is sports that important that we have to grovel at its feet no matter how offensive they are?
“Arrogance on display.”
Of course there is arrogance on display. The MSM of which ESPN is a representative part, and the monopolies that own our cable systems, have a deal that forces every average American cable subscriber to buy and subsidize their “entertainment” and values, whether you want it or not. The owners and managers of the mainstream propaganda media and the political correctness agenda, and the trash entertainment that they push, are responsible for the decline in our national values.
Thankfully for me, not the ones I care about. The NBA has been going downhill since the 80's (Jordan single-handledly kept my interest in the 90's). They have only a partial lock on major college sports - you can still find games on the other broadcast networks, regional sports networks, and the other major cable sports (CBS, Fox, and NBC sports networks).
They only have one of five slots for NFL each week. MLB can be found on numerous networks and regional sports channels. NHL is on NBC. Fox Sports shows twice as many MLS games as ESPN. Auto racing shifts networks from time to time.
So really, outside the NBA, one can get along quite well without ESPN.
The slobbering anchors on Emotional Sobbing Pansies Network are vastly over-paid for their pathetic coverage of athletes, turning sporting events into soap operas. They would have been laughed off the air in the good old days when men were men.
What does mental problems and disfiguring yourself have to do with sports? Shouldn’t ESPN concentrate on sports and not some nut.
Celebrating mental illness is what they should call the award for Bruce Jenner. There is no such person as Caitlyn Jenner. Doesnt exist.
#13 THAT is what should be seen and not that freak Jenner.
“Who or what made ESPN the arbiter of courage, or did they simply arrogate that distinction for themselves?”
They represent a media movement determined to convince us how our society should think, and they can and will do that. It is why I strongly believe in hindsight that the media outlets should have been kept as independent outlets and not as giant megaphones that can control so much.
I like watching football and the college March Madness games. OTT I don’t watch ESPN unless there’s a game I would really like to see then I go to my neighbor who has a dish.
I dumped TV years ago. I see no reason to hook up a sewer line to my living room and let it all coming gushing in...
The whole world is being turned UP SIDE DOWN. Courage used to mean putting your life in danger to save another person. Like a soldier who put his life on the line to save another soldier, or a fireman (or woman) who goes into a burning building to save a child or another person, or a policeman (or woman) who puts his life in danger to save another person. NOW, courage can mean anything these liberals, socialists and communists says it means whatever they say it means. When can we ever rid ourselves of these “WORD PIRATES”?
Jenner lost his mind when the USA Hockey Team’s 1980; Miracle on Ice made him old news. He was such a publicity whore after that, that Married with Children was going to have on until he found out the script called for him to be remembered for everything EXCEPT the Olympics. BTW. Jenner was not the Golden Boy who saved the US Olympic Team’s standing. Lest we forget. A swimmer named Mark Spitz won five Gold Medals in the 1972 games. He was sent home before the Closing Ceremonies “For his own protection” because he was Jewish. So Jenner put a dress on. So what? He didn’t have anything permanent done.
” Id like to see where this guy is one or two years from now when the newness of this fad has worn off.”
Front page of national papers for his “apparent” suicide.
Bank on it.
ESPN= Expect a Sodomite Pandering Network
