WI Republicans fire scientists working on research related to climate change and polllution (sic)

Republican lawmakers are cutting scientists from the Department of Natural Resources who worked on issues related to climate change, pollution and mining.

Republicans claim the cuts are designed to refocus the DNR on hunting and fishing. But Democrats say the GOP is retaliating against researchers in areas they oppose for political reasons.

“It has to be political,” Rep. Chris Taylor, D-Madison, a member of the Legislature’s budget committee, said of the cuts. “The public hasn’t called for this. Most people in the state want decisions about the environment to be based on science, not politics.”

Republican Gov. Scott Walker, an unannounced 2016 presidential contender, included provisions in his state budget to slash 17.5 researcher positions from the DNR’s Science Services Bureau, which would leave it with 12.85 research positions.

Normal people are conservationists but the Left has an agenda. The budget called for less spending - out they go. There is no need to have so many environmentalists parked in the Department of Natural Resources.

“The public hasn’t called for this. Most people in the state want decisions about the environment to be based on science, not politics.”

The Left wants Lysenkosim: "...Lysenkoism is used metaphorically to describe the manipulation or distortion of the scientific process as a way to reach a predetermined conclusion as dictated by an ideological bias, often related to social or political objectives..."

Wonderful. I’ll bet we could cut national budget outlays by 50% if we had a panel of Freepers cut the ideological items out of the budget. (You can’t trust politicians because they bargain. You vote for my bridge to nowhere and I’ll vote for your clitoris museum.)

That is absolutely right. Focus on hunting and fishing. That in itself will protect the environment the way it should be. Good for Wisconsin.

I’m quite sure the good Governor agrees with the way his budget mandate is being carried out.

BTW, I don’t live in Wisconsin, but I am an avid, long-time Packer fan. Does that qualify me to render opinions on Wisconsin business?

The science is settled....so we don’t need to pay for more research.

Yep, they sure do. But, the person stating the above has the inherent assumptions that the unpoliticized science favors the ‘rat position and that the scientists working in those fields are not politicized albeit in her favor.

So those in charge want the department working on functional local issues not global warming which Wisconsin cannot control. Sounds reasonable.

Budget cutting is easy. Simply collect the budgets and the organizational charts for every state agency and university, do word searches for:

Green
Environmental
Diversity
Equality
Inclusion
Climate
Gender
Women’s
Friendly
Cultural

and cut nearly all or entirely all of whatever it is you find.

They hired these guys when the rats were in control to give the results the rats wanted, the kind that allowed the government to grab more land and power. Therefore firing them IS political. Walker and the legislature are protecting the citizenry from democrats, which is precisely what they were elected to do.

Is this in any way similar to that idiot Senator from Rhode Island saying that "climate deniers" should be subject to provisions of the RICO statute?

Re: My tagline: Defund the Left....completely!

Thus far, Walker is the only Presidential candidate that gets it.

The Left has thrown the kitchen sink at him and he caught it, reinstalled it, and is now watching the Left circle the drain as he withdraws the main source of their funding, our tax dollars.

He gets it. But even more important, he’s been willing to act on it.

If they weren't specifically hired to do that, they should have been fired. If they were specifically hired to do that, then whomever hired them should be fired.

"Walker, don’t allow staff to even talk about climate change, let alone the fact that an overwhelming preponderance of scientific evidence shows it’s happening.

Typical liberal has it exactly backward.

“The public hasn’t called for this."

The Republicans need to throw this back in their faces. There have been catastrophic national and economic policies that the public hasn't called for.

Because the way they got the gig in the first place was by being scientists and not corrupted by the political left.

“...Most people in the state want decisions about the environment to be based on science, not politics.” ...

Then the firings are perfectly OK since most of the climate change “scientists” have declared their offices “science free zones”.
