Listen Jack.

Take your bad ass attitude that you can't back up and stow it.

Josh got his first "counceling" by his dad. Second he got sent away from the family for a few months, to live and council with a trusted and respected family friend.

So they weren't "licensed". The report doesn't say licensed.

Often times when dealing with youth, "counseling" is more (or less) than sitting in a degreed persons office.

Next...EVEN IF Josh didn't receive "licensed" counseling until 2007, that was EIGHT YEARS AGO

Lastly...

YOUR JUST PISSED that the stats don't contort to your preconceived bias.

The facts are this Josh DID fondle the girls while he was a minor.

His parents tried to deal with him, including extended leave counseling.

The DOJ
AS WELL AS OTHER reports

State that 1/3 of all sexual molestations committed on minors are by minors.

Check. Josh was a minor as were the girls.

That the average age of juvenile molesters is 14 and plateaus after that.

Check. Josh was 14 the first time and 15 the last.

That 85%-95% (other studies are higher) of juvenile offenders, never have arrests or reports of future sex crimes.

In addition to a diversity of backgrounds, diversity in motivation is evident. Some juvenile sex offenders appear primarily motivated by sexual curiosity. Others have longstanding patterns of violating the rights of others. Some offenses occur in conjunction with serious mental health problems. Some of the offending behavior is compulsive, but it more often appears impulsive or reflects poor judgment (Becker, 1998; Center for Sex Offender Management, 1999; Chaffin, 2005; Hunter et al., 2003).
Similarly, clinical data point to variability in risk for future sex offending as an adult. Multiple short- and long-term clinical followup studies of juvenile sex offenders consistently demonstrate that a large majority (about 85–95 percent) of sex-offending youth have no arrests or reports for future sex crimes. When previously sex-offending youth do have future arrests, they are far more likely to be for nonsexual crimes such as property or drug offenses than for sex crimes (Alexander, 1999; Caldwell, 2002; Reitzel and Carbonell, 2007). These empirical findings contrast with popular thought and widely publicized anecdotal cases that disproportionately portray incidences of sex crime recidivism. Nevertheless, a small number of sex-offending youth are at elevated risk to progress to adult sex offenses. To identify those who are more likely to progress to future offending, researchers have developed actuarial risk assessment tools that have demonstrated some predictive validity; efforts to refine these tools are underway (Parks and Bard, 2006; Right-hand et al., 2005; Worling, 2004).

But I guess actually reading anything in the any report the exposes your bias and ignorance is beyond you.

A court doesn’t accept unlicensed therapy.

Your DOJ study involved licensed therapy received by juvvie sex offenders WHILE they were juvvies.

Those stats are meaningless for perps who never received licensed therapy as a juvvie.

You’re the one that can’t back anything up.

I knew exactly what the stats said for your information. There are many studies out there. Not all of them so ‘hopeful’.

None of the hopeful ones involve perps who got therapy in adulthood however.

Those stats are dismal.

Don’t blame me for pointing out that JimBob cared more about his public persona than he did his kids getting the help they needed. Including and especially Josh, since his receiving treatment was actually probably MORE important than his sisters getting treatment. Because HE was the one that could damage many many many lives if left untreated.

And in ‘07, Josh was 19. No longer a juvenile. Again, all the fault of JimBob.

When you run across reoffender stats where the therapy involves hanging drywall and painting walls let me know.
