All of the other officers in the video look professional, are calmly (but authoritatively) speaking with people, and appear to be trying to figure out what is going on...

It's not clear if "all the other cops" did anything to disperse the people who weren't dispersing.

Yes, but that report is contradicted by the video, which shows Casebolt running to the scene with at least one other officer.

“However, he simply went into the crowd like a raging bull without the other officers and created the frenzie.”

I agree. I didn’t see anything racial about his behavior. I think he would have behaved the exact same with an unruly all-white crowd.

Don’t know if you remember the guy shot in the Las Vegas Costco. This cop seemed to be the same sort of cop found in that incident...overbearing, too dominant, too quick to assume.

If you ever try training animals, you realize how you act is often more important than what you do. Certainly with horses - 1000 lbs of muscle but not much brain - you can be dominant without being excessively emotional about it. When your emotions go out of control, the horse’s will too...and you can create a problem where there doesn’t need to be one. Like a horse, a crowd has more muscle than brain. Calm dominance works better than screaming and running around, throwing things and people...

You know perfectly well one out of twelve will be significantly 'below the curve' NO MATTER WHAT.
Catching them on camera and discharging them won't change that ratio. You're advocating a destructive policy.

... unless ALL of society's wealth is diverted to policing? No, the impoverished people will then be beyond any policing.

The SC police officer who shot a man in the back committed a crime- that's not germane here.

Nothing, but we know that because the video shows it . The officer didn’t have the luxury of that point of view sitting at his computer in a safe comfortable place like the rest of us.

What are you advocating, then? That poorly-performing cops be kept on the job, even after their poor performance becomes apparent?

So?

You don’t seem to realize that what happened, is that the cop totally lost it, no one is just focusing on him pulling a gun, but his entire hysteria and emotionalism.

So?

I was explaining why the officer might feel the threatened at that point.

I have not commented on his alleged hysteria.

Do you understand?

What is amazing about this situation is that no news outlet is reporting this correctly.

The woman who put on the party did it in a gated community and for profit. She was charging people to come to the party. She had also been organizing this party for over a month. She advertised it on social media and did not ask for permission to put on the party from the HOA.

The party got out of hand because a mob came to the party and jumped the gates.

This woman who organized the event named Tatiana got into a violent confrontation with one of the homeowners.

That is when the officer was called and asked for backup. The officer pulled his gun because two large teens came towards the officer and made a motion as if they were going to pull something out from under their clothing. The officer responded by pulling his gun in defense. When he saw they had nothing he put his gun back.

The officer is a 10 year navy veteran including 3 years with military police.

This btw was also recorded on tape and showed clearly why the officer did what he did. He was doing his job and was fired.

Meanwhile Tatiana who created this mess for profit is not even charged with anything. Wow!

," it occurs to me that even in the freeze-frame, the guy is in a terrible shooting stance. His feet are way too wide, he is off balance, and he is back on his heels.

It looks like he is ready to put the ball through the hoop to me.

You don’t understand that the gun is just a part of his hysteria, and going berserk, he didn’t resign only because he pulled his gun, it was his total hysteria and freaking out, that made everyone see that he is in the wrong line of work.

The guy was an emotional basket case.

Of course.
And with my responsiveness before you, I ask again for a response from you:

How much wealth will you confiscate from society to achieve your goal of no policeman ever doing anything wrong?

Silly indeed. Leaving aside the absurdity of freezing a single frame of a guy who first runs forward then immediately stops and backpedals, and calling that frame a "shooting stance," it occurs to me that even in the freeze-frame, the guy is in a terrible shooting stance. His feet are way too wide, he is off balance, and he is back on his heels.

It doesn't take a "shooting stance" to plug a cop from several feet away. Besides that, the guy still charged the scene of the arrest and appeared to reach for something around his waist.

The cop did nothing wrong in that situation.

I’m not proposing a world in which no officers do anything wrong ever, precisely because that would be cost prohibitive (not to mention impossible). What I am proposing is a policy by which officers who prove themselves to lack the temperament to do the job right are taken off the job. What cost would I be willing to incur? The costs of recruiting and training new officers (which is, of course, something police departments do anyway).

I was responding to the picture posted above, which describes the stance as a shooting stance. That’s silly. It’s not.

See post 154.

This guy didn’t resign because he and his union couldn’t handle, only the gun coming out.

That video shows that he doesn’t belong on the streets, as a cop.
