There isn’t any trial, nor any dispute.
The cop, his union, his lawyer, all took one look at him totally freaking out on that video, and everyone instantly said done, and moved on with their lives.
These weirdos want to pretend that this is one of those long drawn out, he said/they said, months long, even years long debates over the video, but it isn’t, the cop looked at it, and then quit.
The weirdos are arguing into the wind, about a non-existent controversy.
Did he body-slam her to the ground too?
Sometimes public opinion is wrong. Hence, due process and rule of law.
Not that’s been reported. But this isn’t a race issue. Imagine that this cop is really a bad cop and shouldn’t be on the force. He’s gone now and this will blow over. Is that really the best result?
What did the Texas State Troopers know about him that got him off the force? His record looks good from them.
Why did McKinney PD hire him? By letting the mob rule the day we don’t get any improvement in the system. The people who perhaps ignored the signs of a bad cop are still in place. The system isn’t changed and justice, in the broadest sense, isn’t served and the future isn’t changed.

True. And sometimes public opinion is right. I think this case is an example.
I agree with you that race likely played no part in his actions. I agree that this is a case where he really should not have been a police officer. And I agree that the matter should be considered closed. But we both know that some people will still try to get some mileage out of it.
Why did McKinney PD hire him?
Probably because then had an opening and he was available. This is so similar to that police officer in Cleveland who got bounced from a suburban force as unfit, got hired on with Cleveland, and gunned down a 12-year old boy. But to keep it in perspective there are tens of thousands of police officers in this country. The percentage of police officers who quietly do their job very well, day in and day out, is certainly in the very high 90's. What we're seeing on the news are the aberrations. The exceptions to the rule. Police officers like this need to be weeded out, not defended.
No public opinion, the cop saw the video of his hysteria, along with his attorney and his union rep, and the Chief, and the cop instantly resigned.
No due process was skipped, no rule of law ignored.
