Officer David Eric Casebolt's actions were "indefensible," McKinney Police Chief Greg Conley said at a press conference after the officer submitted his resignation. But Casebolt was not pressured to quit the force, Conley said.

IF Casebolt's actions were serious and "indefensible" then he should be forced to quit. Yet he wasn't forced to quit.

So which is it Chief Conley?

He resigned and has apologized publicly. Apparently he had to deal with two suicide calls earlier in the day, including one where the person shot themselves.

He was probably told he could resign and keep his benefits or be fired. It’s what happens in employment when you lose your composure.

Just what he said, the cop’s actions were indefensible, and the cop instantly resigned on his own.

The cop is a Barney Fife, who was totally hysterical and emotional, he has apologized for his overreaction and emotionalism, and explained that he had just come from some emotionally wrenching calls.
