Climate Change: Where is the Science?

A theory that does not contain within it the terms of its own falsification is not a valid theory. If the planet Mercury's orbit did not vary by the number of degrees that Einstein's theory said it would, then Relativity would be unproven and Albert would have had to admit failure, as he indicated he would be willing to do. A weasel-word term like Climate Change, where any drought and any flood, any heat wave or cold wave, any storm or any clear sky, any melting or freezing, anywhere at any time, can be cited as evidence of industrial humans' culpability, and there is no defined criteria that would exculpate us, is not a valid theory; it is meaningless Catch-22 Heads-I-Win-Tails-You-Lose political propaganda.

The climate change alarm scientists have lost credibility because too many of them have behaved not as scientists but as politicians. They will regain the trust of the people when they rediscover their principles and comport themselves accordingly, to wit:

The "list" after "to wit:" is not something we'll likely ever see from the folks that depend on govt (read OUR) money to continue their research. Well, as long as it meets the lefts goals to beat us in to submission with more and more BS. Say, how's that environmental justice chart working in your neighborhood? Oh, in case anyone wants to review the epa justice post:

Who needs science when we have a consensus??

Corrupt politicians are corrupting every institution in our country. Normal political methods are no longer capable of correcting the effects of the ongoing corruption.

I now call it, “climate transition” to annoy the climaphobes. Why do they support cisclimatism?

“Corrupt politicians”? Don’t be redundant.

When it comes to totally destroying the “science” behind climate change by using climate science, this is my favorite presentation by John Coleman, Founder of the Weather Channel: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xubH0EaWH0U&feature=related

Or simply posing the following to them:

1. Define the “correct” temperature range for the planet.

2. Define the “correct” humidity range for the planet.

3. Define the “correct” mean sea level for the planet’

4. Define the “correct” amount of precipitation for the planet.

5. Define the “correct” makeup of the atmosphere.

6. Define the “correct” amount of sea ice at the N/S poles.

7. Define/explain past glaciation and subsequent warming without any input from humans.

rktman, I am guessing you are either a rocket scientist or tennis player. Based on the questions you proposed, I am leaning towards the former ;).

Good questions, all. I like to use the Coleman presentation because he carries so much credibility.

LOL! Funny thing, I worked on the shuttle program for 36 years. Twelve years in New Orleans building and proof testing the external tanks and 24 at KSC in propulsion eng/launch ops.

"It doesn't take a PhD to know what science is and isn't; climate science as practiced by the IPCC, Al Gore and their fellow travelers does not qualify.

Yep, even a 5th-grader proved that with her (award-winning) Science Fair project::

(Click here for full-sized image...)

Her conclusion: "AGW is NOT "Good Science"!:

OMG! What kind of parents would allow their child to question settled science? Quick, call child protective services as she’s obviously being abused. May even have been seen playing outside unsupervised.

Nice job youngster but, watch your “6”.

LOL! She competed in the regional Middle School Science Fair competition, took first place — and, then they figured out that she was only in fifth grade — so she was not allowed to advance to State competition.

Hmmmm. Was it really because she was ONLY in the fifth grade or was it the subject matter. Inquiring minds want to know.

LOL!

Definitely not the subject matter here in East Texas -- once professional scientists were employed as judges.

They worked in groups of three, and I heard judges from the first group go and tell others,

"You guys have to go interview the little blonde with the AGW project. She'll knock your socks off!"

It was a hoot, watching them ask her a question, and then stand back and grin, while she grabbed her pointer, and cut loose. '-)

I got so tickled, I had to go out in the hall and laugh.

Soon, one of the judges came rushing out into the hall, exploded with laughter, and leaned into the opposite wall -- totally cracked up. When he finally caught his breath, he said,

"I asked that little girl where the data plots on her display came from, and she said,"

"I took that data at 7:30 every evening for months with our remote thermometer. My granddad set up the spreadsheet, and I entered the data every night. "

"Then he entered the numbers from the "Fudge Factor" subroutine from Kent Briffa's British model -- and it turned my perfectly honest data into Global Warming!!!"

"When she stamped her foot and whacked the chart with her pointer, I lost it, and had to escape out here! Boy, would I love to sic that little cutie onto Al Gore!!" She'd eat him alive!!!

And, then, he cracked up with laughter again...

~~~~~~~~
Also, while the contestants were at lunch, a bunch of USAF colonels and majors toured the exhibits. As the climax of the awards session, they presented my granddaughter with the "USAF AWARD for the best project of the competition"... (Nice plaque, plus lots of goodies like USAF-logo backpack, tote bags, "leather" folder, etc...)
~~~~~~~~

So, no, I'd say it was age/grade. The system simply couldn't figure out how to handle an Elementary School top winner in the Middle School Science Fair competition...

~~~~~~~~~~~
That wasn't the case in an Area competition, where they used college "science" students as "judges". I heard one group say, as they passed her project, "Da*n Denier!" -- and they didn't even stop to look at it...
If that is the crap that schools are turning out as "scientists", now, no wonder, they believe that "consensus" has a place in science.
I must confess, I am a DENIER. Congrats to the young lady for being smarter than the average college grad.
