Da bruddahs don’ be speakin’ dis Hawaiian jiveazz, dey be speakin’ pidgin to da max!
Sad to see that intrusion. "Jawaiian" music (Jamaican/Hawaiian) has ruined easy listening for me.
The "Separatists" produced a catchy number, simultaneously recording Separatists' voices on different islands. The video is all in Hawaiian, including the customary short "chant" that precedes the production. They are interviewed separately in other YT videos. The best and "worst" singers are University professors, who specialize in Hawaiian history.
Yes, they want their sovereignty back, and this production punctuates it with scenes of barbed wire, warnings of stored chlorine gases, traffic, warships (behind "native" Glen Smith), and other woes that came from the United States. A recurring Hawaiian word throughout these songs is the word a'ina (eye'nah), which means "our nation". Those who have experienced Hawaiian music of the last 20 years may like it. And, as I enjoy Hawaiian music, I like it!
