The theory of socialism appeals to lazy people, and of that sort, there is a surplus -- see human nature. The lies are that the system will work.

Just saying, putting socialistic intentions "up front" may well win an election. See, for example, touting how grand "democracy" is, when democracy is one of the identifying features of socialism.

Exactly what I tell people when they call Sanders an honest guy. I respond by saying the only thing honest about him is the fact that he openly identifies himself as a socialist. The dishonest part about him is where he claims his socialist ideas will mend, fix, and solve our problems and make our country better and stronger.
