GOP Critical of New Obama Rules To Create 'Utopian' Neighborhoods

Housing regulations aimed at diversifying wealthy neighborhoods, which some are calling executive overreach for the purpose of establishing a utopia, are expected to be released by the Obama administration this month.

The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) will release the rules with the aim of ending segregation in neighborhoods around the country, The Hill is reporting.

HUD plans to offer grant money to communities willing to build affordable housing within affluent neighborhoods. On the flip side, the federal agency will also give money to poorer neighborhoods to improve those communities through better schools, parks, libraries and grocery stores.

"HUD is working with communities across the country to fulfill the promise of equal opportunity for all," a HUD spokeswoman told The Hill. "The proposed policy seeks to break down barriers to access to opportunity in communities supported by HUD funds."

The regulations are a continuation of a rule made by the Obama administration in 2013, in which HUD started gathering data about diversity in neighborhoods around the country for the purpose of making such policy changes.

Those of us that have broken our backs to get where we are now going to be forced to live among those that are just "given" everything for doing nothing, breaking laws, dealing drugs, destroying property, and disrespecting others. They live where they do for a reason, and that reason is due to the consequences of their own life style and choices. Someone has to stop this.

Ending segregation? It was outlawed years ago.

It is a terrible idea. Moving low/no income people into affluent working class neighborhoods will do nothing but spread the crime and misery.

The Rat Party promised to make Detroit a Utopia in the mid 1960's.Today,some will admit that there *have* been setbacks.

In the late 1960s, the feds instituted busing to integrate the schools. The result....there are as many nearly all-black schools now as there were then. What happened is that in many places whites abandoned the neighborhoods of the forced integration locations. Thus the inner cities went into sharp decline.

This is very recent history. Doesn't anyone remember it?

If the gov pulls this off, there will be nowhere it's safe to live. Minority neighbors are great, if they got there because of choosing the lifestyle and environment as ones they embrace. If they're moving in with attitude and to bring the ghetto with them, that's when they aren't welcome.

Any black or other “minority” who can afford to do so can move into any neighborhood he wishes. Anti-discrimination laws say so. That many well-off minorities choose to self-segregate is not my problem.

I wouldn’t be surprised if this is not already happening...at least within the last year.

The goal of Socialism—to make everyone poor.
A coast-to-coast ghetto...or maybe a little better in rural areas—more like Hunger Games there

The Lilly whites, almost entirely democrat, will have something to say about this. And they will be around long after Obama is gone. They are segregationists at heart who manage their segregation through creating very expensive housing markets most blacks can’t afford. What’s the use of paying that much when Obama will just move people in for free?

But if the criminals live on the same street as the victims — nobody will be using public transportation.

Yes, this is what the RATS want. It keeps citizens occupied while they finish America’s demise.

” HUD is working with communities across the country to fulfill the promise of equal opportunity for all”

More bastardization of the language. Now subsidized housing is an “opportunity “ not a giveaway, and as for equality, how can it be equal when only some will qualify?

All this is is forced equality of results, not opportunity and it will be as disastrous as forced busing, by turning decent neighborhood into new “hoods”.

The percentage of Americans in poverty when LBJ kicked off the War on Poverty was 14.7 percent. Trillions of dollars later, it’s 14.5 percent.
Some progress, eh ?

My point, is to challenge the use of the word "Utopian" in connection with an effort to destroy the character of communities that have grown up based upon the voluntary decisions of those who live in those communities. Does anyone, here, believe that such an experiment in anti-social, "social engineering," is utopian, idealistic, altruistic, morally acceptable, or rationally defensible?

What this action reflects is the Compulsion For Uniformity, which has driven Communism, National Socialism, and every other form of Socialism, including those masquerading as "Liberalism," in America.
