The only thing that can be done is to refute lies with facts and point out the half-truths, substituting whole truths.
Nobody’s perfect, and when we find imperfections we should ask the candidate to correct them, ignore them if they are truly minor, or acknowledge them and either live with them or look elsewhere.

I have no doubt this site is monitored by all sorts of folks who shouldn’t. I think FR has done more to expose the fact that there’s only one party in DC than all of the nets combined, including Fox News.

Rush Limbaugh was able to identify just 12 or 13 people on the #StopRush campaign — losers with nothing better to do than vent their rage against an individual on social media. These folks know how to play the game, have dozens and dozens of social media accounts — why not think they’re here to impact the opinions of Freepers. That’s just the sort of thing leftists do.
I know what you mean...but something always seems off with their postings....I think some use written forms of NLP and can be very subtle. On this forum though after a bit, such can start to stand out like an inkspot on a white canvas. I do so enjoy detecting them!
Now if they want to stay around, defend their view points, and are decent...fine but when they start with the subtle snarkiness...goodbye! The post(hit and run types) it and scram types really get my goat. I understand why humble gunner hates certain bloggers who do this type of thing, especially when they don’t stick around to defend their view points!
I’ve seen what you’ve described. I remember one classic point counter point I was in where I was up against a few posters who were all using very similar sentence structures and voice in their responses...I threw out the challenge that the 3 were all the same person and abruptly the conversation stopped...they just “slunk way! You get used to certain posters having a kind of “voice” over the years.

Or trolls might post inane articles - silly stuff - especially when critical things were happening. Or post to much to in effect - stop our ability to communicate with each other. Or even inject calls for violence - or make us feel uncomfortable about being conservatives.
A troll goal is to demoralize. It's also possible trolls are pitting us against each other using freep mail ... Jim stays on top of this stuff.. and the mods ... and often a name just disappears.
