Ditto there.
I do carry a bit of cash, including some coins - 2 of each denomination - dunno know why for sure.
The incentive to use a plastic card is because ours is the VISA for Southwest Airlines. We were able to fly 4 family members from Calif. to a Colorado wedding free, this past Oct.
It felt so good to be able to do that - more so because 2 teen-aged grandkids had never flown before. They loved it.
I use the card for EVerything, from 50 cents and up.
Ours is paid in full, monthly, also.

Although I have the full array of credit cards (including Visa; MasterCard; and American Express), I usually use my Discover Card. That is because of their Cashback Bonus plan. (They actually have several different plans; but the one I use pays two percent cash back on everything. And I especially like the "everything" part. It really simplifies matters.)
