Every realtor could buy a business car if they chose. You take out a business loan, you buy the car. You pay note on the car with business funds. If you can’t get a business loan for a car, then you probably don’t really have much of a business.

There is nothing more entrepreneurial than saying "start a business. Your business will pay no taxes. Work it hard. Make a ton of money tax free. Leave it to your kids if you want. Work hard, make it happen, get it done."

Yeah, its different than start a business and if you lose money its okay because there are 238374 ways to take that loss, depreciation, etc etc ... all over multiple years etc. That's not entrepreneurial. That's big government. That's establishment republicanism.

That's not true, and it misses the point anyway. Your point of view is that government should be able to dictate how you start your business - and not only government, but the most un American evil government bureaucracy of all, the IRS. I'm not sure where you swerved into this, but your position on this particular point is absolutely un American and anti-entrepreneurial.

Some 23 years ago, I started a business...a capital intensive business - and for the first couple of years, I could absolutely NOT get any kind of business loan. Then we became credit worthy, and eventually strong enough to buy most of our vehicles and equipment cash - unless we had a reason to want the tax deductions for leasing, etc. The point is this, it's ABSURD, just ABSURD to say anyone can get a business loan. Banks look at the self employed very suspiciously thanks to Dodd Frank and Sarbanes and some other things.

I still own that business, but do not spend much time in it normally -and now take a smaller stipend - meanwhile, I have 4 other ventures that are in earlier stages - and it's not feasible to buy a separate "business vehicle" for each of them. And yes, I do deduct the expenses for my personal car, and other travel, as it applies to those other ventures.

you are conflating two issues. I agree your system would be better. I am also stating, in a related, but DIFFERENT topic, that your ideas on taxation are somewhat anti American and anti entrepreneurial. Both can be true. Both ARE true.

Please stop confusing the two points...one of which we agree on.

I'll stand on my previous statement.... "There is nothing more entrepreneurial than saying "start a business. Your business will pay no taxes. Work it hard. Make a ton of money tax free. Leave it to your kids if you want. Work hard, make it happen, get it done." Yeah, its different than start a business and if you lose money its okay because there are 238374 ways to take that loss, depreciation, etc etc ... all over multiple years etc. That's not entrepreneurial. Let me type this slowly so you can separate the two issues.

YES, there are some pro entrepreneurial aspects to your preferred tax system. Indeed. And yes, we both agree that your system would be better.

But YES, there are some anti entrepreneurial pro government bureaucratic compliance parts of your theories of the deductibility aspects of our CURRENT tax code.

BOTH ARE TRUE. BOTH ARE TRUE.

I believe I’m talking about a completely new paradigm for our country. I think largely, you’re talking about statuesque. Where we agree is we would both like to pay less taxes. We might disagree on how to get there. Enjoyed the discussion though :) Have a great day!

We agree on your new paradigm, at least in general.

where we disagree is what is proper under the current paradigm.....two different issues.

I also enjoyed it....
