Why Rubio could be Clinton's toughest opponent

Hillary Clinton and her progressive supporters are right to fear the rising presidential candidacy of Republican U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio.

That is why the once prestigious New York Times has attempted to come to her rescue by thrashing Rubio in two highly questionable front-page stories.

One dealt with traffic tickets (Rubio got four in 17 years, his wife got 13) and the other is his personal finances, including an $80,000 boat, student loans and the mortgage on his home, a house that would fit in the garage of the Clinton mansion in Chappaqua, N.Y

Yep. This is her camp’s choice for the Republican nomination.

The same Rubio who is rumored to be running for the Presidency because he was projected to lose his senate seat in Florida? That Rubio?

My own choice is beginning to focus on Cruz/Fiorina or Walker/Fiorina. It’s going to take a tough at-least-marginally-conservative woman to counter H!, and unlike Palin who didn’t know what hit her in 2008, Fiorina is used to dealing with hostile media, and is handling herself very well. If we must have a less-than-true-conservative in the VP spot, she would be a better choice than the usual GOPe offerings.

Rubio was NOT projected to lose his Senate seat in Florida (at least not by anyone but hardcore dems who expect to gain 10 seats), to the contrary, he led the likely rat nominee in the polls.

Even if he was, which he wasn’t, the race for President is much much much harder.

I'm not a Rubio fan, and do not want him as the nominee, but in this case I don't think they are sending up a smoke screen. He is charismatic, telegenic and speaks well, which makes him a formidable candidate. He is actually the biggest threat to unseating a lot of the very decent conservatives that are running.

Unless something goes haywire, Jeb is likely the only one she can beat. If I were them, I'd be trying to deal each one of the twelve or thirteen other candidates severe body blows so that the Jebster can walk through with 15% of the (R) vote.

The media is going overtime talking up how formidable Rubio is. It’s all BS to fake Conservatives to switch into backing him.

Rubio cooked his goose when he schemed with Schumer against the citizens. He is as unacceptable to me as Jebster. His Gang activities completely destroyed any possibility that I would ever vote for him.

Liberals are constantly polling and they go after who they consider represents the biggest challenge. Have you noticed they aren’t attacking Bush?

He and Carly Fiorino are the nimblest, best-spoken, and most able to respond to and deflect Liberal attacks. But Carly will get absolutely destroyed for being a former CEO. Just look what they did to Romney. Imagine how every HP employee who was ever downsized will be on TV crying in Democrat ads. They will all have spouses who died of cancer because Carly laid them off and they could not afford COBRA.

Rubio on the other hand seems relatively bulletproof. Worst dirt they can come up with are his wife’s speeding tickets and buying too snazzy a boat. Biggest problem he has is with us on the immigration issue.

Agreed! Jeb will negate one of the biggest arguments against the Hildabeast, that she is just an extension of an old political dynasty. Plus, the Beast knows that the Bushes will always play like gentlemen and Jebbie will follow the MSM guidelines of playing softly on all the Clinton scandals. Only Marquess of Queensberry rules for a Bush-Clinton battle...the Beast is a girl after all!
