“Like a lot of people below the Mason-Dixon Line — white people, anyway — I saw the emblem as a token of regional pride”
Yes it has nothing to do with Blacks who are 10-13% of the population. They don’t get to set the agenda unless we let them. I used to have a stars and bars license plate and a horn on my jeep that played Dixie. Yes I’m from Jax, FL.
Mr. GG2 and I will be proudly displaying our flag at our 4th of July deck party right next to the Gadsden flag. :-)
The Dems created the Confederacy and to this day fight to get Confederate supporters into the white House.
Bill And Hillary Clinton Honored Confederacy, On Arkansas Flag And With Special Day
Chapman was born in 1954, the year the Supreme Court issued the Brown v. Board of Education decision. I find it difficult to believe that public schools in Texas remained segregated until his senior year in high school.
Amen, brother.
It was not a civil war. A civil war happens when two parties are fighting over central power. The south wanted to not be yoked politically to people with which it felt it shared few common values (sound familiar?)
The war of northern aggression or the war for southern independence is far more accurate
Flame away
Agree, why people call it a civil war is beyond me.
bump
Saw a black guy wearing this flag on his shirt the other day.
good for you and we still see the battle flags flown here in St Johns county and JAX
Yes just because you honor your ancestors who fought in the war does not mean you want slavery back or to do any bad thing to a Black person. But now they are the entitled minority and they want to ruin anything to do with the Confederacy. screw them.
I’ll believe that these people are sincere the first time a symbol is banned or placed beyond the pale because it offends straight white people, especially if they’re Christian. Until then, this is just another cynical ploy to destroy what little white people have left to rally around as whites.
I believe that up until the early 20th century it was referred to as the War of Rebellion or War of Southern Rebellion. Those would be accurate too.
Not the life or lives that defaced that memorial.
What a bunch of BS.
The really sorry thing is that many cannot understand how it is really 1st and 10th Amendment issues and an erosion of all our rights as they obfuscate and misdirect for a "good cause".
As I've said a number of times, if you believe in the Constitution, you have to know it does not contain a "Good Cause" clause.
It seems today we are governed by petitions and media outcry, instead of the Constitution.
All I have heard is about the flag, on the radio, on TV, etc. I;m sick of it. This lunatic was flying 2 other flag on his shirt and yet the media went out and dug up a photo of a confederate flag to fit their agenda, and the ignorant masses fall for it every time.
