Easy. One does what any nimble politician does and answer the question one would prefer had been asked: Simply state that government regulating guns to eliminate gun violence is likely to result in more gun violence. The correct thing to do is to reverse leftist cultural policies that mass produce violent psychotics, dependents, and other misfits.
That's how it's done.

That sounds good but the left could still misconstrue the comments by simply stating that Rove would rather allow racists to have access to guns instead of enacting meaningful and reasonable restrictions on gun ownership.
You see, this is a universal response to anything Rove could have said. You and I know this is incorrect but why should the left feel constrained to accurately state the facts?
