Our collapse seems pretty rapid

I must give credit where credit is due, to the leadership of the Southern Baptist Convention

My wife and I gave up on the SBC in the early 1960's when the liberal faction was taking over, and we joined a relatively small independent Baptist church whose pastor was a graduate of Columbia Bible College in Columbia, SC, a 4-year private college that has sent literally thousands of missionaries to every corner of the globe. But when my wife and I retired we moved away from my over-run homeland in Florida and we now live in the cool and uncrowded north GA mountains.

I said all that to preface this. The first couple of years up here we attended several Southern Baptist churches in and around this small town simply because there was no independent Baptist church within practical driving distance. However, we eventually settled on and joined one very fundamentalist Southern Baptist Church only a few miles away from our house, and we couldn't be happier than we are now with our decision.

No, I don't agree 100% with the SBC on some issues even though it has pulled itself out of the clutches of the liberal revisionists who took over the denomination all those decades ago. But it's still much closer to what we believe is the proper mission of today's bible- believing churches. We chose this church at a time when most of the other major protestant denominations range from a slight leaning toward modernistic interpretation of scripture all the way down to outright apostasy and rejection of biblical doctrines, including divine inspiration of holy scripture and the virgin birth of Christ.

All that's probably a lot more than you wanted to know about our quest through some of north GA's Baptist churches. But I began this overlong post intending to take up for the SBC as it is today, and how it has returned back to the doctrines and practices of the old timey Baptist Churches that my great and great-great grandfathers founded all over south FLorida when they came home after the civil war.

You got that right, it's collapsing all around us even as we try to save whatever parts we can of the old America in which we were born and raised believing it would never change. It's too bad about how it's ending up when it could have been saved from eventual 3rd class ignominy if not for the greed and lust for power by most of our elected officials.

I tried this approach on Twitter... “Okay, then father-son marriage should be okay. Sister-sister marriage should be okay.” And they actually started accusing me of having incestuous relations with my family. My response, “Well according to you people, it should be celebrated. It’s just love, right?” It creeped me out just making the argument. Twitter is such a sewer.

They’re too big to care. I stopped buying Nabisco and going to Burger King over their gay activism, and I don’t think they miss me.

That’s what people do to shut down the argument, accuse you of doing whatever it is that you believe is wrong. It’s a tactic used to put you on the defensive. You have to either call them out on the tactic or turn it around on them.

I like ‘overlong”, anecdotal posts, people’s experiences interest me :) They also give a truer “feel” for what’s happening out there, though anecdotal experience can’t replace statistical evidence (which these days can be, and is, twisted to support agendas, anyway). So, thanks for the interesting post :)

It’s also called “projection.” As one caller to a radio show once said, “When they start accusing the Republicans of cannibalism, I will know then... ‘Oh my God, the Democrats are eating people!’”

Why wouldn’t the commies infiltrate the Republicans? They have even infiltrated the Vatican. They use sleeper cells which can take many years to achieve power. This is one of their favorite methods for taking over. Now take this method and apply it to EVERYTHING!

I am thinking, how many of these big companies manufacture things that are made by smaller and local companies? Think small—buy local. When you buy from large national businesses all the money goes to the national headquarters of that business. When you buy locally the money all stays in the local communities, many local communities become enriched while the big companies enrich the large metropolitan areas which are also dominated by the Democrat party. No wonder most of these pro-glbt corporations are located in large Democrat voting areas. Don’t think for a minute that much political arm twisting wasn’t used to get what the Democrats wanted them to do. The gays say “jump” and the Democrats ask “how high”. In Boston the gays finally got their way in the Saint Patrick’s Day Parade as they did in New York. Even Samuel Adams beer stuck their noses in the Boston St. Patrick’s Day Parade siding with the gays, of course. Of course they killed the St. Patrick’s Parade as the sidewalks are practically empty now.

I doubt gays drink Sam Adams.
