EXCLUSIVE — TED CRUZ: OBAMATRADE ENMESHED IN CORRUPT, BACKROOM DEALINGS
Breitbart ^ | 23 June 2015 | Ted Cruz

Posted on 06/23/2015 4:29:02 AM PDT by Leto

As a general matter, I agree (as did Ronald Reagan) that free trade is good for America; when we open up foreign markets, it helps American farmers, ranchers, and manufacturers. But TPA in this Congress has become enmeshed in corrupt Washington backroom deal-making, along with serious concerns that it would open up the potential for sweeping changes in our laws that trade agreements typically do not include. Since the Senate first voted on TPA, there have been two material changes. First, WikiLeaks subsequently revealed new troubling information regarding the Trade in Services Agreement, or TiSA, one of the trade deals being negotiated by Obama. Despite the administration’s public assurances that it was not negotiating on immigration, several chapters of the TiSA draft posted online explicitly contained potential changes in federal immigration law. TPA would cover TiSA, and therefore these changes would presumably be subject to be fast-track. When TPA last came up for a vote, both Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL)80% and I introduced amendments that would have barred fast-track treatment for any trade agreement that attempted to impact immigration law. Two other Republican senators objected, and we were both denied votes on our amendments. Instead, the House inserted substantially weaker language in related legislation.

That’s easy to do because I can’t lose by sticking to principle. If Cruz or another conservative wins, we all win. If Hillary or another lib wins because they voted for a lib in GOP clothing, AGAIN, I still have my principles and the lesser evil voters will get slowly and surely stripped of everything to reperate Barry’s kids, Castros Kids, Mexico’s kids and all the rest.

And I get to laugh in their faces. It’s the least I can do to thank their cowardice for destroying America.

all the haters who likely didn’t read Cruz

I was donating to Cruz, arguing for Cruz on every issue. And then he hit us with his double-down-dare-ya on the H1B visa. Then he told us TPA was clean as the driven snow...even though WE knew it meant easy access for Obama to a flood of immigration via TPP.

I wrote them and told them they were wrong. An intermediary said they'd get back with me. They didn't. They dug in to their position.

I'm here to tell you Cruz shot himself in the foot and has probably irreparably injured his candidacy. He's at 4% in the first debate poll that Fox will use to provide entry to the debate. They will allow the first 10 into the debate. Cruz stands now at #9.

Not only was I not a hater, I was a fired up supporter. Then my candidate told me to take a hike.

LOL...wow, the troll stupidity on this page is numbing.

Ever noticed that it is like 3 of you who constantly bash Cruz? The funnny part..

Those polls you talk about...usually only make up a small portion of people (200 voters, 300 maybe). Ironically, those damn straw polls...well, they say your candidates are being mopped up by Cruz.

Go Ted :-)

So the “troll” word is coming out even on this thread.

You got any angrier epithets for those of us who worked so hard to get Ted Cruz to reassess his Howard Dean moment?

Here is the original TPA. Don't be fooled by agitators again.

What Does TPA Mean?

Quit being foolish, Tnmouth. That poll will determine entry to the debates. It doesn’t matter the demographics, if they’ve got the gate-keeping authority.

You are right about one thing, I was against TPA and H1B from the beginning. No doubt about it.

And Ted Cruz has come to MY POSITION on TPA and rejected the one you supported him on.

So who was right all along?

“Cruz supported the original TPA, but per his words, EXTRA items were added by the powers that be that made him reconsider.”

What? He says no such thing. TPA hasn’t changed. There is no “new TPA”. His cash flow changed, so he threw his defenders under the bus.

Note that almonst every person bitching mightily about crus was willing to forget Romneys gay support, crony support, Abortion support, Ted Kennedy support...

And march their asses into a booth to vote for him NO MATTER WHAT.

But let a CONSERVATIVE make a mistake and NO MERCY!

And those people called US Purists....Oh Irony...where is thy sting.

You were weak to have gotten off of the Cruz train. If you can’t stand the heat, we don’t need you in the trenches.

Here’s the real truth: In Fox News poll governing entry into the debates, Cruz was in 9th place at 4% with Carly Fiorini at 2%.

I guess he figured out that Jeb had the “pro-flood the nation with immigrants” vote sewed up.

He has seriously injured his candidacy and sent his supporters to others with whom they are comfortable. Right now it appears to be a Bush/Walker race.

Cruz obviously didn’t relish defending his TPA vote with Trump on the debate stage throwing bombs.

Looks to me like a Jebbie/Walker/Rubio race at this point. Due to his high negatives and polarizing image, Cruz needed to run the table to get the nomination. That won’t be happening now, unfortunately.

I’m disoriented, combative and confused about this. Didn’t Cruz come out last week on this Forum to say the deal was good, along with Paul Ryan and a slew of Republicans? What the heck is fact and fiction here?

Yes he did, and all of his apologists, did the same.

So Cruz gets it right on giving 0bama any more authority. Cool. Is everyone back on Team Cruz now?

I put on my Cruz bumper stickers last night.

It’s not just a mistake, it’s called really quick “backpedalling” for votes.

LOL...yeah right. I am sure you were a supporter. A pretty feeble and weak minded one who can’t take anyone disagreeing with you.

Now, who do you support?

Still not good enough for some here, who will be voting for Reagan’s ghost.
