Mangling the Oath of enlistment is one more shameful post made by the Texas Troll. You insult and dishonor not me, but every single person who has sworn the oath.
I am pinging a veteran who swore the same oath. Perhaps HE can explain to you what the oath means. For handy reference, here it is.
Enlistment Oath.— Each person enlisting in an armed force shall take the following oath: "I, (state name of enlistee), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."
