Interesting since Kentucky was a border state. As was Maryland and Missouri, slave states that remained in the Union during the War of Secession.

Yes, and in Kentucky the “Emancipation Proclamation” did not free any slaves. It took the ratification of the 13th Amendment.

Yea weird how his state had slavery and the north ignored it while the stars and stripes flew there.
Maybe the history book there are different.
