The problem is that Democrats shed the Confederate flag and Republicans picked it up and are now left with the toxic mess. The party of Lincoln should never have had anything to do with it or people that waved it. Maybe now it can be removed from political discourse (and if that means some people cling to it and go as well, better for the party and country). In today's America, whether conservative or liberal, anyone wrapping themselves in or defending the Confederate flag will marginalize themselves. It is pure poison nationally.

Please, lets get the screaming and insults over with and move on the issues that Republicans and conservatives can win on.

It is an inescapable symbol of past history and heritage that cannot be changed for better or worse. Go ahead and forget about history, and join the others on the ‘Shining Path’.

It's like this - the left has pivoted and turned it into another attack vector upon free speech and #2, another convenient opportunity to try and stamp out a cultural identity they see as an existential threat to their despotism - it's really not about a flag at all, it's just an opening to take a mile after getting an inch ceded to them by force.

There were many fine men who were Confederate soldiers, they came from good families who loved them and remember their sacrifices for that flag and what they believed at that time. Frankly, they may have seen something then that we are just beginning to see now........

There is no appeasement, there will never be, black racists thrive on rage. We can remove flags, fill the cities, federal government with black leaders, dumb down the educational system, give EBT cards out like candy, pay cellphone bills, provide housing, free healthcare, condone murder of white cops, the list is endless, they will NEVER forget some of their ancestors were slaves.
