If youre a parent of an imaginative kid, you may have noticed that he or she can make up pretty good little tales to get out of certain transgressions. And though it may annoy or worry you, this tendency isnt totally a bad thing: A new study in the Journal of Experimental Child Psychology finds that kids who are good liars also have better working memories particularly verbal memories than bad liars. This may be because, as the researchers point out, it can take some pretty skillful verbal maneuvering to keep ones lies straight. So lying may, in some way, be a marker of a capable little brain.

Oh, so it’s good to have deceitful kids. Who knew?
The best liars are obviously going to be the most intelligent liars, that’s why they are the best liars.
so are you more worried about your kid’s IQ or their soul?
Nothing funnier than a liar who can’t remember enough to keep his story straight.
I have an IQ of 170.
This is a world of liars. Our leaders are liars. You’ve been lied to today by media, government, and educators.
“Back in 1940, only 20 percent of college students admitted to cheating during their academic careers. Today, that number has increased to a range of 75%-98%.”
The lying and cheating Gruber’s run the world. They run for President and win. They get the lucrative social engineering contracts. They host the major corporate “news” programs.
Just pointing out the obvious.
To be a good liar, you must have a good memory.
LOL. Is that a whooper?
"Just one word: lying."
I have a high IQ, but high enough esteem not to brag about it...
Well if it’s high enough of course I’m lying about it!
It’s high enough that I lie about it.
“I have an IQ of 170.”
Yeah, but I’m married to Morgan Fairchild, yeah, that’s the ticket!
You are one heck of a smart guy!
Hey it all depends on what the meaning of IS, Is
Nothing funnier than a liar who cant remember enough to keep his story straight.
As a youngster, I was an accomplished liar.
As I got older, I realized that I’m inherently lazy, and since lying requires a lot of work, I gave it up. (somewhat tongue-in-cheek)
On a more serious note, if I screw up, I own up to it...and, people tend to sort of blink..and then we move on.
Kids with bad memories get caught. Of course the best liars are the ones who can remember their lies chapter and verse. The ones who cant get punished so often they are discouraged from lying. I know, I tried to lie like my older sister, but I always got caught and punished. She was expert at lying to my parents and so she was rewarded for lying and therefore encouraged to keep lying.
It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand this easy basic concept.
