The root of insanity started when Adam chose to believe he could be god.

I’m curious, just when did Adam make such a choice? If you believe that Adam was in the Garden and walked with God, then nothing was hidden from God, and Adam’s choices must have been consistent with “the plan”. If you believe otherwise, then we have arrived at this point in time without the knowledge or assistance of a Father who knows all and is in control. Otherwise, global warming is real and we are a law unto ourselves, and truly lost, putting to shame the sacrifice of the Son in our behalf.

As an aside, where do you suppose Adam got such an idea that he could be like his creator?

Read Genesis 3 for all the details, but, basically, there was another created entity that got super prideful to the point of rebellion to his Creator, and sought to corrupt and destroy the good works of his true Master.

He introduced an “alternative” to Eve/Adam by a twisting of words, introducing seeds of doubt of the goodness and love of the Creator, that He was withholding something good from them, and that they could bypass that restriction and decide right and wrong for themselves.

Sounds a LOT like modern “liberalism”, does it not?
