Report: Christie nearing 2016 decision [announcing next week]

Gov. Chris Christie (R-N.J.) is nearing a decision on his presidential bid and could announce his decision as soon as next week, sources told Politico.

Christie would likely be the 14th GOP candidate in a crowded primary if he decides to jump in—12 have already announced and Gov. Bobby Jindal (La.) is set to join later Wednesday. Christie, a no-nonsense Republican from a deep blue state, earned a legion of supporters for his willingness to, at times, buck party lines. His 2012 embrace of President Obama after Hurricane Sandy both endeared him to his supporters and repulsed his detractors.

Once seen as a frontrunner for the presidency, his popularity has taken a nose-dive both in his state and nationally. Just 30 percent of New Jersey voters hold a favorable view of Christie in a Farleigh Dickinson University poll released Tuesday.

And after once leading the 2016 presidential polls, he's garnered between 4 percent and 6 percent in recent polls. That's good enough for eighth place, according to a RealClearPolitics average of polling.

If those poll numbers hold, he would be eligible for the main stage in the first Fox News debate this August, which could prove as a make or break moment as he tries to rocket up the ranks and back into the top echelon of the field.

He should announce

(a) that he's buying a Krisply Kreme franchise after leaving office, or

(b) that he's trans-species and will be assuming the role of Shamu at the nearest Sea World.

RINO Governor Chris Christie does not even have a snowball’s chance.

Good news.

Might siphon off GOPE and RINO votes from JB.

Looks like the circus act aka DT will probably never get in.

Hopefully conservatives will coalesce.

Tell me the whole Republican field isn’t a Cloward and Piven-style attempt to overwhelm the system? I’ve not been on this rock for very long, but I don’t remember there ever being this many candidates. It’s well past being a circus.

His approval ratings in New Jersey are in George W Bush/Nixon territory. I know all politicians are a little bit nuts, but entering the race would put him in bat**** crazy territory. A snowball has an infinitely greater chance in Hell than Christie does now.

The GOOD news is that I find it highly doubtful that Krispy Kreme, the one-trick pony (dissing teachers) would be ABLE to run. For anything. He'd probably collapse and wink out in a few seconds. A Krispy Kreme presidency would bring new meaning to the phrase "being a heartbeat away from being President".

Let that fat butthead stay right where he is.
